The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation is getting even more of your money despite the fact no-one is watching.
The federal government announced a grant of $34 Million in taxpayer dollars to help the failed broadcaster deal with lost advertising revenues and increased operating costs due to COVID-19.
The recently announced grant increases the federal budget for CBC to an annual $1.3 Billion.
The blame was put on COVID, but the fact is that CBC ratings and revenue has been dropping for years. Just 3% of Canadians watch CBC TV according to recent reports.
The CBC currently employs more than 7,400 people.
Certainly there are better ways to spend Canadians’ money.
