The Armed Forces wants to influence the attitudes, beliefs and behaviours of Canadians through the use of propaganda.
In a story released this morning, David Pugliese of the Ottawa Citizen is reporting to have received draft documents detailing the desire to create a new organization to further indoctrinate Canadians.
While the document is in draft form, Pugliese reports that several aspects related to the plan and techniques described are already being tested on the Canadian public.
The documentation, dated 2020, states the new group will promote “national interests by using defence activities to influence the attitudes, beliefs and behaviours of audiences.”
The new organization, named the Defence Strategic Communication group, would also analyze Canadians by collecting info on social media accounts, non-governmental organizations, industry and the media.
