In a move that makes absolutely no sense, Calgary City Council appears to be on its way to defunding the police.
The move, a reduction of $20 Million in the police budget, is a blatant miscalculation by the clown council. Stats clearly show the residents of Calgary want their police well funded.
However, stats and common sense are not enough anymore. Taking a stand, demanding action, and voicing your concerns publicly are the only way you’ll get the representation you deserve.
If you’re in Calgary, you should probably join the #SaveCalgary movement and sign the petition they have here: http://www.savecalgary.com/defendthepolice
Next, you should get to the next city council meeting and let the mayor, councillors hear it – verbally.
Politicians that don’t represent their citizens need to be held accountable and they need an awakening.
Instead of blindly obeying authority, why don’t we start questioning it again?
For decades, Canadians have sat back and ignored the obvious issues in our “democracy”. Content to watch hockey, discuss the weather and sip coffee, Canadians have complacently gone about their lives without a worry about anything happening in the city council chambers, provincial politics or Parliament Hill.
While you’ve been going about your day-to-day life and ignoring politics, people with nothing better to do have taken it upon themselves to inject their ideology into your life through politics.
Defund the Police is just the most recent nonsense in the Clown Show that is Canadian Politics.
And it is not going to end there unless you take a stand.
Ludicrous policies, absurd spending and complete wastes of taxpayer funds. No-one is ever held accountable or even questioned, so why would they stop?
As long as you keep ignoring obvious mistakes and giving politicians a free pass, they’ll keep edging closer to the edge of sheer lunacy.
It’s up Canadians to stop being obedient servants of a broken system and demand better.
The government’s job is to serve us. And they’ll never start serving us if we don’t get involved and demand it.
