The Kraken appears to have delivered proof of foreign interference in the 2020 election.
A 17-page signed affidavit released on Thursday night shows evidence that election data was filtered through Iran and China.
The document presents data accumulated by a member of the 305th Military Intelligence cyber warfare unit, aka The Kraken.
“In my professional opinion, this affidavit presents unambiguous evidence that Dominion Voter Systems and Edison Research have been accessible and were certainly compromised by rogue actors, such as Iran and China,” it reads.
The document outlines a connection between Dominion and Edison Research, whereas Dominion collects the voter data and sends it to Edison Research. Edison Research software tabulates the results and provides the election results to Decision HQ.
The problem? Edison Research has an Iranian server and a “deeper search” into the company showed a connection between Edison and BMA Capital Management, a company that provides Iran access to capital markets.
The documents also show Dominion Voting with servers in Serbia and China and a web of foreign connections and data points.
“By using servers and employees connected with rogue actors and hostile foreign influences combined with numerous easily discoverable leaked credentials, these organizations neglectfully allowed foreign adversaries to access data and intentionally provided access to their infrastructure in order to monitor and manipulate elections, including the most recent one in 2020,” the officer wrote.
“This is not a technological issue, but rather a governance and basic security issue: if it is not corrected, future elections in the United States and beyond will not be secure and citizens will not have confidence in the results.”
